November 5, 2024. This date is most likely marked on everyone’s calendars with importance. An election day that could change the course of history for the next four years with the simple check of a box. As the buzz of the upcoming election arises, the debacle of which candidate will take the lead is all the rage for some captivated by political events. A major misconception is that the older generation tends to be more invested in current politics. Many, both kids and adults, believe they have no voice as they are not old enough to vote. However, a study conducted at the Unionville Post peered inside the minds of the Unionville students and proved otherwise. A QR code filled with Unionville’s hottest questions were spread throughout teacher’s classrooms. With this survey, students were assessed on their perspectives and asked highly diplomatic questions. Our scale ranged from a one to five, one being “not at all” and five being “most definetly.” The analysis allowed for a groundbreaking discovery that thought does in fact, lie in the youth. From stretching their minds to uncover their reactions to voting results, to nitpicking at the conspiracy theories, the student body did not stutter in their responses. Whether the outcome of the election is Trump or Harris; everyone will be whispering down the lane, all ages included.

How is this data valid you ask? Well, here at the Unionville Post, we were able to get 150 students (equal parts male and female) to fill out a google form. Mr. Deldotto graciously presented the form to his students, while QR codes were promoted in Ms. Brigance and Ms. Carter’s classrooms.
